The town of Bled sits on incredibly scenic Bled Lake, which is the focal point of the attractions here. Next to the town atop a hill high above the lake you'll find the 1,000 year old Bled Castle, an incredibly well-preserved structure offering a museum and spectacular views over Lake Bled. You can also enjoy great views of the castle set amongst the lake from the southern coastline of the town of Bled.
In the middle of Lake Bled is the tiny Bled Island where you'll find a stunning old church, cafe, and several other structures along with views of the hills surrounding the lake and views of Bled Castle.
On the western side off the lake are two viewpoints very close to each other, the Ojstrica Mountain Viewpoint, which is said to be the most gorgeous view over the lake, and the Mala Osojnica hilltop viewpoint, both offering slightly different perspectives. Both are reached by short but steep hiking trails.
You might alternatively consider taking the cable car up to Straza Hill on the southeastern side of the lake which also offers excellent views, and can also be reached by hiking if you like.
A must-see attraction in Bled is the Vintgar Gorge, a breathtaking river gorge trail through a lush forested canyon. There is a bus that runs from Bled to the Vintgar Gorge you can take that runs in the summer, however in the calmer seasons you may need to take a taxi or take a bus to the closest villages and walk the last 1 mile (1.6 km) to the entrance of the gorge.
The total trail length of the gorge is approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) in and back and is definitely worth the effort, however plan to spend a descent amount of time here as it can be quite crowded with long lines due to its popularity.
